Colour brought back to a settled scar so it stops being the first thing you look at.
What it does, and what it does not
A scar that has finished healing often ends up paler than the skin around it. That difference in colour is what makes the eye land on it. Camouflage works on the colour, adding pigment mixed to match your own skin so the scar sits closer to its surroundings.
It does not change the scar itself. Nothing here softens raised tissue, alters texture or removes anything. If the scar is raised, the raised part stays raised. What changes is how obvious it is at a glance.
Not every scar is suitable, and some never become suitable. Rai would rather tell you that from a photograph than take a booking and disappoint you in person, so send one before you commit to anything.
Before you get in touch
The honest version, so you know what you are deciding about.
- The scar has to be settled
- Flat, pale and no longer changing. Anything still red, raised or recent is not ready, and rushing it makes the result worse rather than sooner.
- A photograph first
- Send one on WhatsApp before booking anything. It costs nothing and it is the quickest way to find out whether this is worth pursuing at all.
- Built up over sessions
- Scar tissue takes pigment unpredictably. It is worked gradually and assessed between appointments rather than finished in one go.
- It will not tan
- Camouflage pigment stays the colour it was put in at. A match made in winter can read lighter than the skin around it after a summer, which is worth knowing before you start rather than after.
- No photographs on this site
- There is no gallery on this page, deliberately. Ask Rai directly if you would like to see examples of her work.
- Training
- Camouflage work is a separate discipline to brows and lips, and Rai has trained in it specifically. Certificates are on the studio wall.
- Patch test
- Needed at least 24 hours beforehand, as with any first-time treatment.

Common questions
Does it remove the scar?
No. Nothing about this changes the scar tissue itself. It adds colour on top of it so the scar reads less obviously against the skin around it. The texture stays exactly as it is.
Which scars can be worked on?
Generally flat, settled scars that have lost their colour and now sit paler than the skin around them. Scars that are still red, raised or changing are not ready, and some never become suitable. Send a photo before you book and Rai will tell you honestly which category yours falls into.
How many sessions does it take?
More than one. Scar tissue takes pigment unpredictably, so it is built up gradually and assessed between sessions rather than finished in a single appointment.
Will it match my skin exactly?
It is matched to your skin as it is on the day, and that is worth understanding. Camouflage pigment does not tan, so a match made in winter can look lighter than the skin around it by August. Rai will factor that in, but nobody can make it move with you.
