Who these terms are with

These terms apply to treatments carried out by Rai Permanent Makeup at 89 Victoria Street, Windsor, SL4 1EH, and to the use of this website. Booking an appointment means you accept them.

Age

Permanent makeup and cosmetic tattooing are only carried out on people aged 18 or over. This is not a matter of preference: tattooing anyone under 18 is a criminal offence under the Tattooing of Minors Act 1969. Proof of age may be asked for, and an appointment will be refused without it.

Waxing, lash and brow treatments for anyone under 18 are only carried out with the consent of a parent or guardian, who must be present.

Patch tests

A patch test is required 24 to 48 hours before any first-time treatment involving pigment, tint or lamination. It takes a few minutes and is booked in before the treatment itself.

If a patch test has not been carried out, the treatment cannot go ahead. This applies even if you have had the same treatment elsewhere without a reaction, and even if it means rearranging the appointment on the day.

Consultation and suitability

Before any treatment you will be asked to complete a consultation and consent record covering your medical history, medication, allergies and previous treatments. It is your responsibility to answer it accurately and to tell Rai about anything that changes between booking and attending.

Rai may decline to carry out a treatment, or may stop partway through, where she considers it unsafe or unsuitable. That decision is hers and it is not open to negotiation. It is made in your interests, and she would rather have an uncomfortable conversation than a bad outcome.

Some conditions, medications and circumstances make a treatment unsuitable either temporarily or permanently. Where that applies, Rai will tell you and, where she can, will say what would need to change.

Booking, deposits and payment

Appointments are booked online through Fresha, or arranged directly by message or phone. A deposit of £50 is required to secure an appointment. It is deducted from the cost of your treatment, not added to it, and payment is handled by Fresha under their own terms.

Prices are confirmed at the time of booking. Where a price is shown as a starting figure, the final cost depends on what the treatment actually involves, and that is discussed and agreed with you before any work begins. You will never be presented with a bill you have not already been told about.

The balance is payable on the day of your appointment.

Cancelling and rescheduling

If you need to move or cancel an appointment, please give at least 48 hours notice. Rai works alone and sets aside the whole appointment for you, so a slot that empties at short notice usually stays empty.

Cancel or rearrange with at least 48 hours notice and your deposit moves with you to the new appointment. Inside 48 hours, or if you do not attend, the deposit is retained. Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may mean future bookings require payment in advance.

If Rai has to cancel or move your appointment, she will offer you the earliest alternative that suits you, and any deposit is transferred or refunded in full as you prefer.

Results, healing and top-ups

Permanent makeup is not permanent in the sense of unchanging. Pigment fades over time, and how quickly depends on your skin, your immune system, sun exposure, skincare and factors nobody can predict in advance.

Colour looks stronger immediately after a treatment and lifts as it heals. The healed result is what the work is aimed at, not how it looks on the day.

Permanent makeup treatments need a top-up to settle the final result. It is booked no earlier than four weeks and no later than twelve weeks after your treatment, and it is a separate appointment and a separate charge of £50. After twelve weeks it is no longer a top-up, and a colour refresh is charged at the rate shown on the relevant treatment page.

Aftercare makes a real difference to how a treatment heals. You will be given instructions, and following them is your responsibility. Where a result is affected by aftercare not being followed, correcting it is chargeable.

No specific outcome can be guaranteed. Skin behaves differently from person to person, particularly skin that has been scarred, tattooed before, or affected by surgery or a medical condition. Rai will tell you honestly what she expects to achieve, and she will tell you when she does not think a treatment is worth doing.

Restorative work

Areola micropigmentation, scar camouflage and vitiligo camouflage are not bookable online. They begin with a conversation, and whether and when to proceed is decided from there.

These treatments are cosmetic tattooing. They are not medical procedures and they are not a treatment for any underlying condition. Where timing depends on surgery, healing or a medical condition, that is a question for your doctor or surgical team, and Rai will ask what they have advised before agreeing to anything.

Photographs

Rai photographs her work. You will always be asked first, and no photograph of you is published anywhere without your specific consent.

Agreeing to be photographed and agreeing to publication are separate things. You can agree to one and not the other, and you can withdraw consent to publication at any time by telling Rai.

Gift vouchers

Gift vouchers are sold through Fresha and are subject to their terms, including any expiry period shown at the time of purchase. They are not exchangeable for cash.

If something is wrong

If you are unhappy with a treatment, contact Rai directly and as soon as possible. Most concerns about permanent makeup relate to how a treatment is healing, and the answer is often to wait and then assess it properly at the top-up. Rai would always rather look at it than have you sit with it.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Liability

Rai Permanent Makeup is insured with INSYNC Insurance. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else which cannot lawfully be excluded.

Rai is not liable for a result affected by information you did not disclose at consultation, or by aftercare instructions not being followed.

This website

The content of this site is provided for information. It describes treatments in general terms and is not advice about your particular circumstances, and it is not medical advice. What is right for you is decided at consultation, not from a web page.

The text, photographs and design on this site belong to Rai Permanent Makeup and may not be copied or reused without permission.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The version that applies to your appointment is the one published at the time you booked, and the date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute falls to the courts of England and Wales.
